Nintendo Switch Outsold Life-time PS1 Sales

Nintendo must be smiling today as news arrived that the Nintendo Switch now outsold the lifetime sales of the Playstation 1. With last weeks sales the total amount of Switch shipped reached over 102.81 million units. Compared to that the PS1 held its record at 102.5 million units. These sales numbers make Switch the Fifth best/selling console/platform of all time.

The Switch sales number include the original Switch, Lite and Oled version and it is quite an impressive number they manage to get in our living rooms since release on March 3, 2017.

When you buy a Switch, you buy a game. When we look at the latest stats of sold games we made a list of the top 10 best-selling Switch games.

1. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe                                    – 38.74 million
2. Animal Crossing: New Horizons                 – 34.85 million
3. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate                        – 25.71 million
4. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild   – 24.13 million
5. Pokemon Sword / Pokemon Shield            – 22.64 million
6. Super Mario Odyssey                                   – 21.95 million
7. Super Mario Party                                        – 16.48 million
8. Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!/Evee!           – 13.83 million
9. Splatoon 2                                                     – 12.68 million
10. Ring Fit Adventure                                       – 12.21 million
