Xbox 360 Halo Servers Permantly Down – end of an era
Remember those summer nights playing Halo 3 with your friends until dawn. Thursday January 13th Microsoft and 343 Industries pulled the plug of the Halo servers. This meant that the Xbox 360 servers of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4, Halo: Reach, Halo: Spartan Assault, and Halo Wars are now down, permanent.
Altough 343 Industries made the announcement back in October 2021 the playerbase of the game made an astonishing rise in active players. Mainly due to the many players who wanted to complete their still missing online achievements.
A fun fact about Halo 3, the servers were running for 14 years, 3 months, 19 days. It is good to note that this only affects the 360 version of the games. The Master Chief Collection is not affected and you can still enjoy the old school Halo experience there.
Feeling nostalgic? Below is likely the saddest video game moment of this year.
With the shutdown of these servers lets hope 343 Industries and Microsoft can give their full attention to the Halo Infinite Big Team Battle server issues.
